Executive Summary

In October 2017, US-headquartered real estate software provider MRI Software announced the acquisition of UK-headquartered facility and workplace management software vendor Qube Global Software. Private equity-backed MRI Software has been highly acquisitive, buying vendors across the real estate management market. This latest deal by MRI Software will grow its footprint in Europe and provide it additional software capabilities across facilities management and workplace services. Qube Global Software customers should expect all current products to remain in place, with the addition of better access to solutions from MRI Software’s portfolio. The key takeaway for executives in the real estate software market is that MRI Software, through its acquisitions and partnerships, is getting closer to being able to provide solutions across the whole breadth of the market. This will put pressure on other firms pursuing a similar strategy to accelerate their investment plans.
